As one season is just beginning (you know, autumn), another has come to a close.
Last year at this time we were celebrating the extension of the season. September turned to October and the season marched on. The fun was alive, and the people everywhere cheered for the joy that the season brought.
But, this year, the Giants aren't playing any October baseball. The season ended today. Sad.
In fact, I remember being at Disneyland last October as they were making a run to get to the World Series. People throughout the parks were in Giants gear and checking scores on their phones. We would come off of a ride and check to see if Wilson had FINALLY closed out the game. We celebrated with random people as we came off of California Screamin' and found out that the Giants had beaten the Phillies in the NLCS and were headed to the World Series. There's just nothing like the thrill of October baseball.
It just wasn't meant to be this year. Injuries plagued us. There were a few drains on our payroll.
But we love you, San Francisco Giants! And though your season ended today, we're already looking forward to next year!
